Japan's Feminism Stumbles Over 'Comfort Women'

Tessa Morris-Suzuki's article about Asahi's fiasco. She is an active feminist who wrote lots of wrong articles about this subject. She is aware that she is also stumbling.
Other academics have been attacked in the mass media for including material referring in their classes to the forced recruitment of comfort women. Concerned public commentators on this and related issues also have become the target of vitriolic attacks by weekly magazines. Now, only one or two small and brave journals still dare to look critically at the government's denials or to publish the stories of former "comfort women" who speak of being forcibly recruited.

Norimitsu Onishi, a liar

The most influential source of lies is Norimitsu Onishi , the Tokyo bureau chief of NY Times . He was born in 1969 in Ichikawa, Chiba Prefecture, Japan, and moved to Canada when he was four. He graduated from Princeton University and joined the Times and covered Africa, Afganistan, and other foreign countries before he came to Japan in 2003.

Asahi Shimbun fabricated "comfort women"

All these things began with a wrong article. "Comfort women" or  "military abduction" weren't discussed before it. The Asahi Shimbun reported in the front page on 11 January 1992 that the historian Yoshiaki Yoshimi discovered documents that proves the Army's "commitment" to comfort women in the archives of Japan's Defense Agency.
